Landlords Remain Confident

According to a recent survey conducted by Mortgage Express over 50% of expected to increase their portfolios over the next 12 months. Only 1% said they wished to leave the property investment market. The biggest age group of people surveyed fell in the 35-55 year old age group (63%). Of those surveyed 40% were employed and 31% were self employed with only 10% claiming to be full-time landlords.

The reults underpin the current state of the and the fact that the number of single households continues to rise means that prospects remain good. According to the survey the average house-hold size has fallen from 2.65 in 1981 to 2.3 today and is expected to drop to 2.1 in 2026.
