Rightmove identifies repeat in fall in asking prices
Online property portal Rightmove has identified that the asking prices of houses across England and Wales has fallen yet again for a second straight month. Last month, the average price was £230k after a drop of 2.1%. Many, if not most regions saw a fall in asking prices with only Humberside, Yorkshire and Wales seeing a small increase. Rightmove’s figures mean that in comparison with the same time a year ago, prices are 0.3% lower.
Miles Shipside, Rightmove Director said "We're in limbo land", adding that in many parts of the country activity is limited to "sellers who are willing to price aggressively below the competition and who can afford to do deals."
The figures also show that it’s the first time since September 2009 that there a year on year fall in asking prices.
