Cleanliness is no longer next to Godliness for many
UK Government-authorised tenancy deposit protection scheme provider, Mydeposits has discovered that the expense of clean up costs further to a tenants departure from a rental property is riding high as on of the most cited reasons for landlords withholding their deposits.
The reason was identified during a recent survey when they were asked for the main reasons for their main reasons for withholding money at the end of a tenant’s term. Unpaid rental monies were also high on the list of the most common reasons too.
Privatelandlord investor, Jim Clifford joked “It used to be that cleanliness was next to Godliness, but clearly those days are long gone as far as my rental properties are concerned.”
