Buy To Let - ALWAYS liked by Canny Investors

There are always going to be people looking to take out a buy-to-let mortgage and purchase rental properties, it has been suggested.

Alan Ward, chairman of the Residential Landlords Association (RLA), said the sector will continue to attract individuals with cash to invest.

This is because it "enables people to control their financial destiny through investment in housing," he stated.

Mr Ward recommended London as being a strong location in which to buy because of its capital growth potential.

However, he stated that there will always be risks, as property prices can fall as well as rise.

The expert added that "the latest RLA research shows mostlandlords are looking at investment over 15 years".

This comes after Townsends estates agents revealed earlier this week that void periods are now almost non-existent for the majority of dwellings, especially one and two-bedroom homes in Surrey, Hampshire and London.

As a result, new landlords were urged not to be put off by other reports about these vacant periods.
