Development Summary
Local Area
Goa is a tiny lush area of land 3,702 sq kms on the west coast of India . With its natural scenic beauty, attractive beaches, churches and temples, architecture, feasts and festivals and, above all, hospitable people with a rich cultural background, Goa is an ideal tourist profile.
Little Baga is 25 minutes away from Goa "s main airport at Dabolim. Also close by are the popular beaches of Candolim, Calangute and Anjuna. Goa"s cost of living is a fraction of the cost of the UK where the capital appreciation in the housing market has risen between 20 – 30% per annum. With more and more people finding this wonderful holiday destination, now benefiting from direct flights from the UK , rental yields are improving annually. The evergreen destination of Goa is a holidaymaker"s paradise. Breathtakingly beautiful beaches, soft sands, fabulous flora and fauna, rich cultural heritage, captivating churches and terrific temples - Goa has it all. The feasts and festivals of Goa are not to be missed. This Indian state beckons you for the time of your life - it is a holiday twelve months of the year! Baga has a small but perfect beach located between its two more famous cousins, Colva on one side and Calangute on the other. It is a far better place to enjoy some restful moments if you don"t like the hustle and bustle of larger cities. It is a fishing village where international tourists and domestic visitors can relax on the beach. The golden sands of the beach stretch along the aquamarine Arabian Sea where groves of palms frame the water"s edge. The Baga River flows down one side of it offering a pleasant diversion for children and those who love the water; a place where you can wash your troubles away and pamper yourself with a mud bath – which is very good for the skin.. Where the river and the sea meet, and on the far right bank, there is a group of black rocks against which the sea crashes in dramatic explosions of spray. Goa is also blessed with wide and wonderful rivers, numbering seven in all. It is here that you realise how much more there is to Goa than just its beaches and sea. The waters of the rivers are emerald green and if you take a ferry up any one of them you will see many interesting sights, such as fishermen manipulating their nets providing an insight into the local lifestyle and culture. On the sides of the rivers are palm trees with green fields behind them and as you go past old Catholic churches, you might just come across small white-sanded banks that are popularly called Coco or Sunny beaches. If not for anything else, stop to collect awesome, colourful and varied shells which can be found on the shore. Besides discovering this wonderful destination, you will realise that there is much more still undiscovered in this beautiful, unspoiled destination. Goa villages If you decide to venture north of Goa , make sure you do not miss going to Arambol (Harmal); it is actually a large village spread along the beach. You can ferry across an estuary from Chapora village and walk along the coast (around one hour) into the village, or you can drive through the Casuarine plantations with brick red hills on a two kilometre long winding road. The approach road from Majorin, lined with swaying coconut palms, looks even more fresh and beautiful in the monsoons. Temples and Churches of Goa Goa , Jewel of India, is studded with temples and churches, which remain as silent but forceful witnesses to the intense religious history of the diverse people who lived here. Flights There are scheduled flights a day from Gatwick and Heathrow as well as Birmingham , Manchester and Glasgow , at a cost of approximately £400 - £500 return, plus charter flights from all over the UK .
